We discovered Placido's last year on a trip to Eugene and had to go back this year. The pasta is fresh and delicious, with large portions, and the service is attentive. Luckily they hadn't run out of tiramisu this time around, and we weren't disappointed because it was amazing. Our favorite restaurant in Eugene.

Absolutely ahhhmazing!!! Tucked in the basement space of a warehouse is Placido’s. As an out of towner, our waiter offered the local cocktails and wines… we had a whiskey sour and a lemon martini. We began our meal with the Caprese salad - super fresh! Great bottle of Pinot noir by Sarver and then a great big bowl of fresh made spaghetti and meat sauce, shrimp scampi, and the vodka ala rigatoni. Great atmosphere, great food!!! Highly recommend

This review is for the handful of times I have been to this restaurant from when they first open to the date of this review. The freshly-made pasta is probably the best feature. My girlfriend orders their Roasted Garlic Gorgonzola Ravioli with added shrimps almost weekly! If you aren't a vegan and enjoy pasta, you will likely enjoy your meals at Placido's Pasta Shop. If you are vegan, you may want to skip this place as their salad isn't worth the money. The ambiance is quaint. They have limited space inside so it feels slightly tight. The outdoor seating is nice with umbrellas for shades. The service range from incompetent to exceptional. The guy who works at the bar counter (Aaron or Eric), handles takeouts, and sometimes fills in as a waiter provides excellent service by listening to customers' requests and figure out solutions. Sorry I forgot his name. Summer, the waitress, does an exceptional job of connecting with customers with her genuine conversations and recommendations. She is friendly but not the fake-friendly type. She cross-sells other products like wines and desserts but isn't pushy. Recently I accompanied my girlfriend for an outdoor meal and wasn't eating a meal or drinking water. Summer brought me a glass of water and said, "I can't have you not have water." Way to go out of the way to please, Summer! The worst service my friends and I received at Placido's was with their manager in fall 2023. A large group of us were there to have a goodbye meal with a friend who was heading back to Columbia. Two of us showed up just before they opened and asked if we could join two outdoor tables together for the whole group to sit together. The tables were a couple of feet apart. The manager, a taller slender guy, perhaps bald or balding, said no to our ask—citing that would prevent cars from moving in and out of their parking spots. My friend and I could not understand how he came to that rational because moving the tables closer didn't reduce the depth of how much space cars had to move in and out. If anything, it would clear more space for a car to backup! Feel free to reference the attached pictures and judge for yourself. When another guys, the one cited above who works the bar counter, came out to take our orders, we again asked to move the tables together. He said he would check with his manager. The manager came out and told us he already said no and went back inside. We asked the waiter if the manager's logic and decision made any sense. We worked through that situation so we could enjoy our goodbye dinner with our friend. That manager was the wrong hire. He had poor customer service skills and lack the competence to work with people to find solutions. Why would anyone hire him to manage people is difficult to comprehend. Imagine working for someone who doesn't listen well and fails to find solutions to challenges. He negatively impacts the morale of the team, drives engagement of team members and customers into the ground, drives away quality team members and customers, and reduces sales to the company. The food quality is decent to good but that manager's hiring decision was poor.

Super fast service! Fresh food! Every dish can have tofu added to it so very vegetarian friendly! Free focaccia with a marinara sauce for the table.

If you like pasta, they make good pasta in-house. I had the Pesto Chicken, a Cesar salad, and a Moscow Mule to drink. This was my first time eating here, we were out enjoying a late evening dinner with my son on his birthday. It's one of his families favorite pasta restaurants. While my pasta was good I found the pesto sauce a bit runny, almost watery. There wasn't much chicken to the dish either... The anchovies blended in the salad dressing were overpowering, I had the taste in my mouth for a couple hours after dinner and I only finished half the salad. That might have been my issue with the pesto chicken. Too intense on the anchovies so caution for anyone ordering their Cesar salad. For dessert we shared tiramisu and a chocolate cheesecake. The tiramisu was excellent, but the chocolate cheesecake was super rich and didn't get finished, it was okay but not great. The atmosphere is a small dining area that gets very loud as people compete to speak to each other. Good place for 2-4 people groups, although they can squeeze tables together for larger parties, but with 6 at our tables it felt crowded. The focaccia bread and marinara they served as an appetizer was delicious. Overall, descent but a little spendy.

First time here. Sat at the bar, bartender was on point! She was very personable and made some tasty drinks! Food was delicious! Hard to decide what to order. Got smoked salmon spinach fettuccine, so good! Husband ordered spaghetti & meatballs. Trust me, go!

Nice atmosphere and incredible pasta. I had the special which was the cajun shrimp pasta. The sauce was one of the most delectable I have ever had. It had just the right amour of spice. Reminded me of one of the most excellent vodka sauces I’ve ever had traveling around the world. We also ordered three other pasta dishes including chicken masala and chicken pesto which were very delicious, too. We started with the kale salad - so crisp and fresh and the cesar salad - with a nice garlic touch.

Took our oldest for her birthday dinner in Eugene. Called a few days prior to make a reservation for party of 4 and they were very accommodating. We got there on time and they also opened on time. We were seated immediately. The place is nice, warm and cozy, and we love that it's a small setting but tables are spaced nicely to be able to have conversations without disruptions. Our server Daisy is friendly and kind. She was quick to come around to check on us and refilled our beverages as well. The bar tender made delicious cocktails and a bit too generous on the alcohol... lol. We ordered salads to share... and individual pasta dishes. The kale salad is very delicious. Love the dressing that they used with a touch of sweetness and right amount of flavor. The walnuts are nice and crunchy which complimented the salad nicely. We love love love the Caprese salad. It is my husband's favorite and they did it right with the right amount of balsamic vinegar. We ordered the spaghetti bolognese and added meatballs for the youngest, two of us had the vodka rigatoni and one of us had the special which is a cream based sauce pasta with shrimp and mushroom. Everything.... amazingly flavorful and delicious. Portions are very generous and since we were hungry, we polished everything clean! Sadly, we had no room left for dessert but Placido's, you are now one of our favorite places to eat when we are in Eugene! Can't wait to come back again on our next trip to visit our oldest. Thank you for a great and memorable evening and scrumptious dinner.
